Our History

Isotope Tracer Technologies Inc. (IT2) is a privately owned, commercial isotope laboratory established by Robert J. Drimmie in 2009. Mr. Drimmie brought his extensive experience in the analyses and application of stable isotopes in different disciplines, which he gained in industry and academia through his 40+ years of experience as a laboratory manager at the University of Waterloo.

In 2013, Dr. Orfan Shouakar-Stash joined IT2 as the Manager of Research and Development and in December 2014, he became the director of IT2, upon Mr. Drimmie’s retirement. Dr. Shouakar-Stash gained his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from the University of Waterloo in isotope hydro- geochemistry. He served as an assistant professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Waterloo prior to joining IT2. He has developed numerous isotopic methodologies, initiated and participated in a number of international and domestic collaborative research projects, authored and co-authored an extensive number of papers for scientific journals, and delivered more than 60 presentations at international conferences. He serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals, and is an active member of the American Geological Society and the International Association of Geochemistry and Cosmo Chemistry.

Since his enrollment, Dr. Shouakar-Stash has expanded the services of the IT2 laboratory to include research and development, data interpretation, consulting services, and project design and management services.
The goal of IT2 has always been to provide high quality data and excellent analytical service to serve the needs of our clients.
